Concerts at the Musikverein Wien 20/21

Tribute to Viennese classicism with the legendary Concentus Musicus Wien founded by Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Under the direction of Stefan Gottfried, the ensemble performs the most energetic of Haydn’s London symphonies, Symphony No. 99, his first to include clarinets. Slightly later, the Symphony No. 5 by the very young Schubert proves to be the worthy heir of Mozart and Haydn, thanks to its perfect proportions, melodic richness, and humanism.
